You can get the super-light 55g Dragonfly R1S wireless gaming mouse for just $9.99 – I tell you how

If performance is on the table at such a competitive price, the days of expensive mice may be over.

VXE has unleashed a market-defying wireless gaming mouse, offering great specs at an unbeatable price. Called the Dragonfly R1S, this mouse combines quad-connectivity options, high polling rate, and a lightweight frame, in a package that can be yours for just $18.99 MSRP, or merely $9.99 if you take advantage of the ongoing discount, which I’ll talk about later.

Known for its affordable, lightweight mice, VXE is taking things to the next level with the Dragonfly R1S. Like its siblings, the R1S is designed for small- and medium-sized hands, mainly swapping the internal hardware for some seemingly more affordable alternatives. For instance, the R1S ditches the PAW 3395 sensor from PixArt for the Xhero AI, which is either a proprietary or rebranded sensor based on an existing OEM solution. Understandably, only hands-on testing can tell if the quality and performance are worth the cost cuts.

The same goes for the BS20 MCU, produced by Huawei’s HiSilicon subsidiary, which is different from the chip powering the higher-tier models. This MCU is capable of a 1,000Hz polling rate, transmitted via either wire, 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth, or NearLink. The latter is a new standard set by the NearLink Alliance led by Huawei, which aims to combine the best of Bluetooth and Wi-Fi to improve how devices connect over short distances. It also supports more simultaneous connections than Bluetooth while focusing on ultra-low-lag communication.

VXE Dragonfly R1S - specs.

For the main buttons, VXE chooses the basic Huano Blue Shell White Dot mechanical switches, known for their clicky feel, fast rebound, and around 20-million-click lifespan. All of this is powered by a 520mAh battery rated for 150 hours of use at the mouse’s maximum 1,000Hz polling rate. And in case this wasn’t enough, VXE combines all these aspects while maintaining a lightweight 55g design, measuring 120.6mm x 64.1mm x 37.6mm.

But wait, there is more. If you thought the $18.99 MSRP was already quite competitive for such specs, well, you are in for a treat. VXE is currently running a launch promo which shaves $3 off the price if you subscribe to its newsletter, on top of a $6 discount. Combined, these bring the price of the Dragonfly R1S to just $9.99! A fantastic option for those who can’t afford big brand solutions such as the Corsair Sabre v2 Pro Ultralight Wireless or the Endorfy Liv Plus Wireless.
