The Apple MacBook Neo’s surprisingly low price might look extremely tempting, but we’ve found a much better laptop deal if you want to play games on your portable machine. Amazon has just slashed a whopping £300 off the price of this Acer Nitro V15 laptop, meaning you can get a machine with one of Nvidia’s latest Blackwell GPUs, as well as 16GB of RAM and a 512GB SSD, for just £679.99.

£949.99 £679.99
“The Acer Nitro V 15 offers the perfect blend of gaming power and portability. With up to an Intel Core 7 processor and a GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU, it’s built for seamless multitasking and fast-paced gaming“ – Acer
That’s a huge saving of 28% on the usual cost of this NH.QZ9EK.007 model, marking the lowest ever price for it on Amazon. You get a remarkably capable spec for your £679.99, particularly given the current climate.
The standout component is a GeForce RTX 5050 Laptop GPU, which is the entry-level chip in Nvidia’s latest Blackwell lineup. It’s a solid upgrade on its predecessor, the RRTX 4050, giving you 8GB of VRAM, rather than 6GB, and a wider 128-bit memory interface, which increases bandwidth.
With 2,560 CUDA cores, it has a very similar spec to the desktop RTX 5050, which we found was capable of running lots of games at 1920×1080 with decent settings in our tests. You won’t be able to max out your settings with all the ray tracing eye candy, but you will be able to play games on this cut-price machine. It’s also compatible with Nvidia’s multi frame tech.
Plus, if you can afford an extra £70, the RTX 5060 version of this laptop is also on sale right now. Amazon says the usual price of this model is £899.99, but a quick look on price checking sites shows it more usually goes for £1,049.99. Either way, it’s a great deal for £749.99, and it comes with a 1TB SSD as well, doubling the storage capacity of the RTX 5050 model.

Other bonuses include a 165Hz IPS screen, meaning your display will be able to continue displaying fast action at high frame rates. You also get 16GB of RAM, which is double what you get in the MacBook Neo. It’s only DDR4, rather than the latest DDR5 RAM, but 16GB is a decent capacity for the money, and enough for most gaming needs.
You even get a decent CPU, thanks to an Intel Core i7-13620H. This chip is based on Intel’s last-gen Raptor Lake architecture, which is actually stronger for gaming than the company’s current Arrow Lake chips. You get four P-Cores, which are the important ones for gaming, as well as four E-Cores to give it a leg-up in multi-threaded applications.
You’ll need to be really quick with your trigger finger, however, as both these laptop deals are due to expire at the end of 16 March 2026, so you don’t have much time.
