AOC has announced the Agon Pro AG276QSG2 gaming monitor featuring Nvidia’s G-Sync Pulsar technology, which aims to imitate +1,000Hz refresh rates clarity on 360Hz panels. It is designed for enthusiasts and competitive esports players who require unparalleled target tracking.
Made in collaboration with Nvidia, the AG276QSG2 is designed for precise aiming, delivering sharp and clear images even during intense movement thanks to the G-Sync Pulsar technology. The latter utilises a variable-frequency backlight-strobing technique to deliver more effective motion clarity, without forcing you to disable Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) like previous clarity-boost solutions. To do so, Pulsar dynamically adjusts the rate and length of backlight strobing in concordance with the refresh rate to ensure each segment of the screen is lit at the right time. AOC and Nvidia claim that enabling Pulsar boosts the perceived clarity by four times.

Additionally, the G-Sync Ambient Adaptive Technology enables the AG276QSG2 to automatically detect and adapt to changes in ambient lighting using a built-in sensor to maintain a consistent visual clarity by adjusting brightness and colour temperature.
“The AGON PRO AG276QSG2 was built for players who demand the highest level of performance. These hardcore gamers and esports competitors require absolute clarity at speed. By pairing our 360 Hz Fast IPS performance with NVIDIA G-SYNC Pulsar, we’re delivering a monitor that helps top players track faster, react cleaner, and stay locked in when it matters most,” said Kevin Wu, Head of Monitor Business Unit, TPV, AGON by AOC.

Even without Pulsar, the AG276QSG2 is already a fast monitor, based on a flat 27in QHD (2560×1440) IPS panel refreshing up to 360Hz. This means smooth visuals on top of the sharpness provided by Pulsar, so you can unleash your skills while enjoying a pleasant experience.
The rest of the specs are quite typical for an IPS, including a 1ms GtG pixel response, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 450nits of brightness, and 119.7% coverage of the sRGB colour gamut. Ergonomics are as you can expect from AOC, i.e. great, with support for -3.5°/+18.5° tilt, 18.5° swivel, 90° pivot, and 130mm height adjustments. As for connectivity, you get two HDMI 2.0, one DisplayPort 1.4, plus a three-port USB hub. There are also two 2W speakers for those playing on consoles.
The Agon Pro AG276QSG2 will go head-to-head with competing solutions such as MSI’s MPG 272QRF X36 this February, offering esports players their first taste of the Pulsar technology for £559, backed by a three-year warranty.
