Cooler Master V SFX Platinum PSUs bring full ATX 3.0 support to extreme SFF builds

SFF builder’s dream.

Cooler Master SFX Platinum

Cooler Master has announced two new V SFX power supplies following the ATX 3.0 standard, featuring Platinum efficiency and up to 1,300W capacity while keeping a small form factor.

Dubbed V 1100 SFX Platinum and V 1300 SFX Platinum, both measure 100mm (L) x 125mm (W) x 63.5mm (H) and weigh 1.94kg, making them perfect for mini-ITX builds. The former has ≥16ms Hold Up Time at 70 per cent load, with the latter reaching ≥16ms at 60 per cent load, which is especially important for regions with bad electrical service.

Cooler Master SFX Platinum - Side

Hold Up Time indicates how long a PSU is able to maintain a consistent output voltage after the loss of (110/220V) main power. This duration is meant to prevent system instabilities/shutdown while waiting for the UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) to kick in. The holding time is dependent on the capacity of the bulk capacitors.

Speaking of which, both SFX Platinum PSUs use 100 per cent Japanese capacitors alongside a full-bridge LLC and DC-DC topology, designed to reduce switching losses and improve power efficiency. As usual, active PFC, plus OVP, OPP, SCP, OCP, UVP, OTP, Surge and Inrush protections are also present.

Cooler Master SFX Platinum - Fan

The ensemble is cooled using a 92mm FDB fan that has no hybrid (off below 50 per cent load) mode, and comes with one (300mm) 24-pin cable, two (450mm) 8-pin EPS, two SATA (four ports each), one (four port) Molex, three (400mm) 6+2-pin PCIe, and a single (400mm) 12VHPWR rated for 600W. Finally, ATX format chassis are also compatible using the included adapter bracket.

The V 1100 SFX Platinum and V 1300 SFX Platinum will be available in the UK starting February 27 for £369.99 and £399.99, respectively, and are backed by a 10-year warranty.
