One last hurrah for Prime Day, we’ve saved one of the best deals of the sale for the last. I’m a self-confessed enthusiast of Google’s smartphones and the brand’s Pixel 9 Series and it’s impossible to describe it as anything else other than the best smartphone design in the company’s history.
There are two models up for grabs: Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. I’ve provided a few key details on each doen below.
Pixel 9
Setting the baseline for the series, Pixel 9 packs everything you need from a modern smartphone with a stylish and performant finish. While it lacks some of the niceties of its Pro sibling, you’re getting the lion share of Google’s latest and greatest.
Amazon US has Pixel 9 with 128GB of storage up for sale at $549, netting you a large 31% ($250) saving off its list price. Elsewhere, Amazon UK is selling the smartphone for £499, making for a 38% (£300) discount. Regardless of where you’re shopping, that’s the most affordable the device has ever been on the storefront.
Pixel 9 features Google’s most-powerful processor to date, Tensor G4 complemented by a dedicated Titan M2 security coprocessor. Sitting on top of those innards is a 6.3in LTPO OLED display, Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Suffice to say, this is a pretty and zippy smartphone to use in every sense of the word.
In terms of cameras, Pixel 9 rocks a 50MP wide and 48MP ultrawide round back and a 10.5MP selfie. Capable as these lenses are of taking fantastic-looking photos on their own merit, images come to life all the more thanks to Google’s post-processing magic. There’s also AI features like Magic Eraser and Unblur that can help make a great photograph even better.
Pixel 9 Pro
There are a stark number of similarities between Pixel 9 Pro and the base model, but shifting up the stack does come with several enhancements. If you’re someone that values the capabilities of higher specifications and a proper telephoto lens, then this is the better pick of the two smartphones.

Pixel 9 Pro 128GB
“It’s the most powerful Pixel yet with Gemini, your built-in AI assistant.” – Google
Pixel 9 Pro 128GB costs just $749 on Amazon US, down 25% ($250) from its list price. Amazon UK, meanwhile, is selling the phone for a cool £679, shaving 32% (£320) from its RRP. Once again, this is the cheapest the handset has been in either region.
The most notable uplift Pixel 9 Pro offers is a dedicated 48MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom, extending up to 30x through software. While some balk at the idea of taking photographs from a such distance, speaking from experience, it’s surprising how often opportunities to use it cross your path.
Under the hood, Pixel 9 Pro lifts up RAM capacity from 12GB to a welcome 16GB. This not only improves its gaming performance but also makes for a smooth multitasking experience. Naturally, everything on the phone looks lovely and sharp thanks to its higher-resolution LTPO OLED display.
The clock is ticking on Prime Day, so make sure you get any purchases in while you can. You can expect further details from us after the sale, and you’ll find all our highlights on Google News for you to pour over.
