Black Friday isn’t here yet, but there are still savings ready for buyers to scoop up. Case in point, Amazon has shaved a welcome amount off Samsung 9100 Pro 1TB .

Flagship speeds at a surprisingly low price point. Read our review.
Amazon US has 9100 Pro 1TB up for sale at $135.66, down 32% ($64.33) from the drive’s list price. Meanwhile, UK shoppers can snag the same SSD for £131.99, enjoying at 12% (£18.10) saving. Both prices are close to their lowest ever levels, which is becoming all the more rare in the wake of increasing NAND costs.
Unlike many other drives, 9100 Pro 1TB keeps pace with larger capacities. The SSD arrives with respective sequential read and write speeds of 14,700MB/s and 13,300MB/s, mirroring its 2TB sibling in the former and just 100MB/s behind in the latter.
This is about as fast as PCIe Gen 5 storage gets, give or take a few hundred megabytes. As such, 9100 Pro is up to practically any task you could throw at an SSD. Speaking from experience, it makes for an excellent primary drive, keeping OS, games, and other applications running at their nippiest.

While power consumption and thermals have classically proven troublesome on PCIe Gen 5 SSDs, neither are for 9100 Pro. Samsung has curbed average wattage to just 7.6W, bringing the drive in line with modern alternatives and making for a much cooler bit of storage. Note, however, that I still recommend slotting it under a heatsink where possible for optimal performance.
Samsung ships 9100 Pro with a welcome five-year warranty, matching the plans of many competitors. For those that plan to push the drive hard, you have 600TBW to play with before coverage expires.
Finally, 9100 Pro is compatible with Samsung Magician. This software provides an easy way to check your drive’s health as well as enable features like Overprovisioning to prolong lifespan. It’s as excellent an application now as it was back during the days of the first SATA SSDs and comes thoroughly recommended.
