Amazon UK has a fantastic deal on a super-fast MSI gaming monitor right now, enabling you to scoop up a 200Hz screen for just £88.97. That’s a legitimate saving of 36% over the £138.98 MSRP (Amazon’s stated 27% saving is actually conservative), and it marks the lowest ever price for this monitor. You don’t have long to add it to your cart, though, as this deal will expire on 19 November.

MSI MAG 274F

MSI MAG 274F

“Designed for competitive FPS, first-person RPG/MMORPG, and flight/racing simulator genres, the MSI MAG 274F takes casual gaming to a new level, challenging players to see beyond the game.” – MSI

Amazingly, the MSI MAG 274F on offer isn’t a dinky 24in screen either, which is what you’d usually expect at this price. Instead, it has a decent-sized 27in diagonal. The biggest deal, however, is that fast 200Hz refresh rate. That means this monitor can display really fast action smoothly, even if your graphics card is churning out 200fps frame rates.

Importantly, this monitor also uses a fast IPS panel with a 0.5ms grey-to-grey response time, which will be much more responsive than rival VA screens, even if it lacks their higher contrast. There’s full support for Active Sync as well, meaning this screen’s refresh rate will dynamically adjust itself according to your GPU’s frame rate, so you don’t get any tearing problems.

If there’s one slight downer, it’s that the 1920×1080 resolution will make your games look a bit chunky on a 27in screen compared to a 24in model, as you get a lower pixel density. On the plus side, though, this also means you don’t need an expensive GPU to play games at the screen’s native resolution, and the bigger screen will also make your gaming experience more immersive as it fills more of your peripheral vision.

The best bit is that price, though. We usually expect monitors under £90 to have a 24in screen and 144Hz refresh rate, so it’s fantastic to see a 200Hz, 27in panel drop to such a low price. If you’re due a monitor upgrade, this is a great opportunity to bump up your refresh rate without spending over the odds.
