Whether you’re a gamer, streamer, or a professional in the world of audio, there’s no denying that a quality microphone can make all the difference. Your team, audience, and clients deserve to hear the best version of your voice, making a dedicated mic highly desirable. Thankfully, you don’t need to spend an inordinate amount of cash to get one as the cost of excellent models like SteelSeries Alias Pro are tumbling down.

SteelSeries Alias Pro
“Alias Pro is an all-in-one sound studio designed for every streamer out there, with everything you need to sound pro, every time you go live.” – SteelSeries
On Amazon US, SteelSeries Alias Pro is on sale for a mere $168.94. That’s down a whopping 49% ($161.05) from its list price and makes the microphone the most affordable it’s ever been. Meanwhile, Amazon UK is also selling the XLR mic with a welcome discount of 24% (£77.39).
I’ve had the pleasure of rocking SteelSeries Alias Pro since its launch back in early 2024. In that time, it’s become one of my favourite parts of my home setup. There are multiple reasons for this but audio quality is chief among them. Featuring a frequency response of 50-20,000Hz and a 24-bit sample rate, it’ll pick up everything you want it to in crisp detail.
As much as capsule microphones on headsets have come a long way, there’s simply no beating a dedicated means of capture. My comms come through crystal clear using this mic, and I’ve even tried my hand at the odd bit of streaming and studio recording with no complaints from listeners.
Admittedly, the majority of my experience with SteelSeries Alias Pro is with a boom arm rather than the desk stand. This is the best way to go if you want to maximise the quality of the microphone, but its included solution will set you right if you don’t have the funds or space to get up close and personal with the mic.
It comes bundled with everything you need to get it up and running, including a separate mixer that provides 48V of phantom power. This control panel allows you to connect SteelSeries Alias Pro to multiple devices if you wish, in addition to adjusting gain, volume, and mute functions with the satisfying press of a button or twist of a dial.
You can further customise Alias Pro via SteelSeries GG. Tweaking the microphone to your preferences in the software is an intuitive experience and its Sonar feature takes the experience up a notch with even more controls.
