If you’re looking to get yourself a handheld gaming PC, but you’ve found yourself dismayed by current Steam Deck pricing, and the outlandish prices of new handhelds, then this deal is for you. Lenovo’s Legion Go S, which runs SteamOS just like the Steam Deck, is now down to its lowest ever price on Amazon in the UK. That means you can pick one up for just £404.10, 27% lower than the usual £549.99 MSRP. Remarkably, you even get 1TB of storage space for this price as well.

“Dive into gaming with this power-packed handheld built to give you console-level performance anywhere you play.” – Lenovo
As a point of comparison, the lowest Steam Deck price right now is £649, and while that does get you an OLED screen, rather than the LCD panel on the Legion Go S, the latter is otherwise a much more capable device. It comes with 1TB of storage, for example, rather than the meagre 512GB in the entry-level Steam Deck.
Its screen also has a 1920×1200 resolution, making for a sharper image and smoother motion than the Steam Deck’s 1280×800 display. Meanwhile, the Lenovo Legion Go S’ AMD Ryzen Z2 Go chip is based on AMD’s Zen 3 architecture, rather than the ageing Zen 2 tech used by the Steam Deck. The Lenovo’s GPU is also more powerful, and while it’s still based on the same RDNA 2 architecture as the Steam Deck GPU, it has 768 stream processors at its disposal, rather than just 512.
Importantly, this handheld runs SteamOS rather than Windows – the same acclaimed operating system as the Steam Deck. This not only improves gaming performance compared to Windows handhelds, but it’s also really user-friendly, and one of the key selling points for Valve’s device.
Anyway, in these times when hardware often demands a silly premium, getting what’s basically a beefed-up Steam Deck with 1TB of storage space for just £404.10 is a veritable bargain. Go and grab one while you can.
