Noctua has launched its NF-A12x25 G2 fan series, building and improving upon the success of its predecessor. This new 120mm fan series features a refined blade geometry and a novel motor design, helping achieve better performance-to-noise efficiency, be it on radiators and air cooler heatsinks or simply as case fans.
Showcased during Computex alongside Noctua’s first AIO cooler and the Asus GeForce RTX 5080 Noctua Edition GPU, NF-A12x25 G2 is the long-awaited update of the original NF-A12x25, which pioneered the use of liquid crystal polymer (LCP). With seven years separating the two, the second-generation G2 series leverages the lessons learned to further optimise the impeller design, featuring winglets, flow acceleration channels, and a new hub. These changes allow NF-A12x25 G2 to surpass the performance of its predecessor, making it the new flagship in Noctua’s 120mm fan range.

Like its bigger 140mm sibling, NF-A12x25 G2 is built to be a one-stop shop for all your cooling needs, perfectly suited for low-impedance case cooling and high-impedance heatsinks and water-cooling radiators.
Its nine-blade rotor features a progressive bend profile, which terminates only 0.5mm from the frame, boosting the air pressure while balancing the load across the blade’s length. Additionally, the series uses the new etaPERF motor with Smooth Commutation Drive 2 technology, leveraging the untapped torque headroom to maintain the fan at its desired speed even when working against back pressure. This results in great performance without an increase in noise levels.

NF-A12x25 G2 will be available in a standard PWM version with 1,800rpm maximum speed, a quiet LS-PWM version topping at 1,100rpm, plus an Sx2-PP bundle which contains two fans that are offset by around 50rpm. This speed offset is meant to avoid any periodic humming or other undesired acoustic interaction that could happen with multi-fan setups.
You will soon be able to gran NF-A12x25 G2 at the following prices, backed by a six-year warranty:
- NF-A12x25 G2 PWM: €34.90 / $34.90.
- NF-A12x25 G2 PWM Sx2-PP: €64.90 / $64.90.
- NF-A12x25 G2 LS-PWM: €34.90 / $34.90.
The brand has also showcased a chromax.black version at Computex, which you can expect sometime later at similar prices, including colour-matching rubber vibration dampeners.
