If you’ve been eyeing up Razer’s latest lovely laptops, but have understandably been repelled by their cost, then you now have a chance to grab one with a huge discount. Razer has just dropped the price of several Blade 14 models by a colossal amount, with savings of up to $900 available. In fact, they now start at just $1,599.99.

That buys you the entry-level model, which has an MSRP of $2,299.99, and still has a decent specs list. Its innards contain an AMD Ryzen AI 9 365 CPU with ten cores based on the latest Zen 5 architecture and a top boost clock of 5GHz. That’s solid for both gaming and multi-threaded workloads alike. You also get an OLED screen with a 2880×1800 resolution that looks super-sharp on the 14-inch panel, and it has a fast 120Hz refresh rate too.

Meanwhile, gaming power comes from a GeForce RTX 5060 Laptop GPU. This new chip is based on Nvidia’s latest Blackwell architecture, and gives you full support for the latest DLSS 4 suite, including multi-frame gen to boost your frame rates. The caveat here is that the RTX 5060 only has 3,328 CUDA cores and 8GB of VRAM, so it won’t let you max out the latest games at the screen’s native resolution, but it will run your games at 1080p with decent settings.

You also get a 1TB NVMe SSD, as well as 16GB of 8,000MT/s DDR5 memory. While that’s a great speed for the memory, though, 16GB doesn’t give you much headroom. It’s still just enough for gaming, but you ideally want 32GB these days, particularly if you like to have lots of browser tabs open at the same time. Plus, to make matters worse, the memory is soldered to the motherboard so you won’t be able to upgrade it. If you can afford to step up to $1,799.99 for the next model up, then I’d spend the extra money.

That will buy you a much better machine, reduced by $900 from an MSRP of $2,699.99. The spec of this rig gives you 32GB of RAM, as well as a faster GPU in the form of a GeForce RTX 5070 Laptop chip. This chip still only has 8GB of VRAM, but it has loads more CUDA cores (4,608 to be precise), giving it a significant step up in gaming performance over the 5060.

Best of all, though, is the chassis, which is absolutely gorgeous. It weighs just 1.63kg and measures just 15.8mm at its thinnest point. The anodised CNC-milled aluminium casing gives it a properly premium look and feel, with the glowing green Razer logo in the lid adding a further touch of flair. There’s RGB agogo too, including per-key lighting on the keyboard.

Yes, these prices are still a bit expensive, even with this massive reduction, but the latest Blades are really lovely machines. If you can afford to stump up the cash, it’s well worth the money.
