Ugreen prepares to launch flagship NASync iDX series, featuring local AI search and labelling

Promising a truly smart NAS, UGreen is equipping its upcoming NASync iDX series with some powerful and useful AI tools.

Ugreen is almost ready to unleash its new iDX NAS series, promising to level up private cloud storage by way of artificial intelligence. Instead of serving simply as a passive repository, this NAS series can understand queries via LLMs, deliver smarter data organisation, and ensure stronger privacy, all via a local network connection.

The NASync iDX series aims to become the reference AI-ready NAS, offering performance, intelligence, and privacy without compromise. The lineup includes the NASync iDX6011 and the NASync iDX6011 Pro, both equipped with six front drive bays capable of accommodating SATA HDDs and SSDs. Inside, you will also find another two M.2 NVMe slots for SSDs, boosting the slower SATA HDDs through caching.

Both models are fairly similar, mainly differing in computing power and some external aspects. The most feature-rich model in the series is the NASync iDX6011 Pro, housing an Intel Core Ultra 7 255H processor with 96 TOPS of AI compute, dual M.2 slots, plus 64GB of LPDDR5X memory. Meanwhile, the standard iDX6011 features a less-powerful Intel Core Ultra 5 125H capable of 34 TOPS.

The NASync iDX6011 Pro also features a 3.7in touch screen, positioned vertically on the right side. This screen is displays various system information, such as operating temperatures, fan rotation speed, NAS IP address, disk status, and more. You’ll also find an OCuLink port on this model, which you can use to connect to external PCIe devices like graphics cards, which can assist in resource-intensive AI applications.

Speaking of which, the iDX Series AI capabilities include document summaries, file translation, and search using natural language. You can also use smart commands to enjoy movies, music, and photos instantly, without navigating through folders. That’s not forgetting intelligent labelling of files according to their content, for more efficient organisation. The NAS even has the capability to find answers inside your data, all processed locally to maintain privacy.
