If your Nintendo Switch 2 is running out of storage space, this Samsung P9 microSD express card deal will double it to 512GB for just $39.99. That’s an excellent price for this 256GB card in these times when storage prices are rocketing, and will give your handheld some breathing space.

“Enjoy smooth gaming with P9 Express, which works with Nintendo Switch 2. Featuring PCIe technology for high-speed performance and Dynamic Thermal Guard (DTG) to maintain optimal temperatures.” – Samsung

Prices are all over the place for microSD express cards in the US right now, with this one even going for $82.69 earlier in June, according to price trackers. Meanwhile, the Nintendo-endorsed Samsung card costs $59. You will need to be quick, though, as this Prime Day deal expires at the end of 26 June 2026.

Nintendo took the opportunity to overhaul its storage system in the move from the first Switch to its successor. The original device took standard microSD cards, but the Switch 2 exclusively uses microSD express cards. These new storage pellets are massively faster than the old ones, with Samsung quoting a top speed of 800MB/s for the P9, while you won’t get more than 100MB/s out of a standard microSD card. Bear in mind that this also means you can’t use this Samsung P9 card on an original Switch, or a Steam Deck for that matter.

Importantly, you’ll get a load more storage space on your Switch 2 without paying a silly price, and that’s a godsend when game installs are so large. You only need to install Fortnite with a few add-ons, plus some of the latest games, such as Resident Evil: Requiem, and you’ll quickly use up the 256GB that comes with the Switch 2 as standard.

Storage prices are only going up this year, sadly, so if you’re short of space on your Switch 2, or indeed any other microSD express card, we recommend taking up this deal while you can.
