MSI is offering a remarkably good 27in gaming monitor spec for a very low price on Amazon right now, enabling you to go beyond the confines of 1920×1080, complete with a high refresh rate, for just £119. We usually expect monitors at this price to have 24in 1080p panels, but the MSI MAG 275CQF E18 has a sharp 2560×1440 QHD resolution, as well as several other core gaming features, enabling you to get a decent display upgrade without breaking the bank.

With a launch MSRP of £189, and still costing £184.86 in October last year, you’re getting a great spec for your money here. It’s not the first time we’ve seen this screen drop to £119 – that also happened at the end of 2025 – but it still represents solid value for money.

That modest outlay nets you a decent-sized 27in panel, which is perfect for the 2560×1440 resolution. That means games will look much sharper than on a 27in screen running at 1920×1080, as the pixels are smaller. There’s also a 1500R curve to wrap around your peripheral vision.

Active Sync is supported as well, meaning this monitor will sync up its refresh rate with the frame rate output from your graphics card, so you don’t get nasty tearing artifacts. It can refresh up to 180Hz as well, which is plenty fast enough for most gaming needs. Bear in mind, though, that you only get 180Hz if you use the DisplayPort input with your PC – the HDMI ports only run at up to 144Hz (or 120Hz on consoles).

There’s a quick word of warning about responsiveness, though, which is that this screen uses a VA panel, rather than an IPS one. On the plus side, that means you’ll get deeper blacks and a higher contrast ratio, which is great for watching movies or playing epic cinematic single-player games. However, VA panels are also less responsive than IPS screens, often with more visible ghosting, so this isn’t an ideal screen for fast-paced competitive FPS games.

Either way, you really can’t complain at this super-low price. For just £119, you can upgrade your resolution to 2560×1440 with a 180Hz refresh rate, all on a decent-sized 27in panel.
