Intel Arc driver brings support for Core Ultra mobile chips

A new product line joins the fun.

Intel releases Arc driver 101.5122 WHQL featuring support for Core Ultra mobile processors. Many Arc Control bugs are also squashed in addition to the usual game optimisations.

This update inaugurates support for the Arc Xe-LPG integrated graphics, found on the recently announced Core Ultra Meteor Lake mobile processors. Representing another huge optimisation to a DirectX 11 title, there’s up to 30 per cent average fps uplift in Battlefield 1 at 1080p.

The Arc control panel receives most of the attention. Notably, a fix for Arc Control losing settings after a system reboot, corrupted captures and highlights recording files if Overlay mode is disabled, and a reduction to Arc Control notifications time on-screen. The latter is especially annoying when you have many notifications popping at the same time, blocking the view.

Aside from these, Intel also fixes a bug causing corruption in Fortnite when using certain Anti-Aliasing settings. Not forgetting to mention, support for HDR capture and SDR streaming on HDR-compatible displays, plus the ability to customise hotkeys. If the last update was about game optimisations, this WHQL one focuses on fixing bugs.

On the to-do list, Intel notes crashes in Dead by Daylight, which is particularly bad on an online game like this, plus crashes in Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection, The Talos Principle 2, and Autodesk Maya.
