We’ve always thought Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5060 was overpriced at its usual UK MSRP £279, but it offers outstanding value at just £224.90. That’s the current price of an MSI GeForce RTX 5060 8G Shadow 2X OC on Amazon UK at the moment, marking the lowest price ever for this graphics card, a big drop from its £334.99 price in March this year.

Given the current uncertainty around GPU pricing at the moment, we’re delighted to see a genuinely decent budget GPU deal, but we don’t expect it to be around for long. In fact, at this price, the RTX 5060 can be described as a bargain. This GPU came in for some stick from us when it first came out, as it only comes with 8GB of VRAM.
However, this shortcoming can easily be forgiven when you can save so much money on the price. In terms of performance, as long as you’re not held back by VRAM, you can expect decent frame rates from this graphics card at 1920×1080. Indeed, as you’ll see in our Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail benchmark graph below, the RTX 5060 outputs an average of 145fps.
As it’s based on Nvidia’s latest Blackwell architecture, the RTX 5060 also supports multi frame gen. And while that’s not a fix for a poor frame rate, it can give you a great improvement in motion on a monitor with a high refresh rate, as long as you have a decent starting point.
As we noted in our review, the RTX 5060 is also substantially quicker than the RTX 4060. That’s not only thanks to architectural improvements, but also the core spec. The RTX 5060 has 3,840 CUDA cores at its disposal for 3D rendering, compared to just 3,072 on the 4060 – a massive 25% increase in shader power.
The big boon with this deal, of course, is that price. At just under £225, this RTX 5060 card has a similar price to a budget GPU from the good old days, and it’s not a low-end RTX 5050 either, but a full-on 5060. In an ideal world, we’d recommend a card with more VRAM, but at this price, you really can’t complain, especially in these times. Grab one now before the price rockets back up again.
