Nintendo Switch 2 prices are already coming down at Amazon UK

Despite smashing sales records, Nintendo's hugely popular handheld is seeing discounts that are certain to entice even more buyers.

It’s fair to say Nintendo’s Switch 2 is off to a flyer. Launched just five months ago, the handheld has already smashed records with nearly four million units sold in its first four days. Switch 2 is the fastest-selling piece of Nintendo hardware, and the gaming giant is reportedly ramping-up production to meet demand.

Yet things move quickly in this industry, and in record time we’ve gone from “where can we find one in stock?” to “there’s now a discount.” Quelle surprise, Amazon UK has shaved five per cent off the asking price of the Nintendo Switch 2 + Mario Kart World bundle, bringing it down to £409.

“The next evolution of Nintendo Switch is here! Bring games to life with a larger 1080p screen – or connect to a TV and play in up to 4K resolution.”

A £20 reduction is nothing to scoff at, especially this early in a console’s life cycle, and it of course marks the lowest price we’ve seen for the bundle to date.

Gamers might even have expected Nintendo to go in the other direction and follow Microsoft and Sony’s lead, both of whom have raised prices on their Xbox and PlayStation systems in recent months.

These are without doubt exciting times for portable gaming. Nintendo’s long-awaited Switch 2 is carrying the flag for handheld consoles, and PCs are vying for a slice of that lucrative pie with high-profile releases such as Asus ROG Xbox Ally X, MSI Claw 8 AI+, and of course, Steam Deck OLED.

Black Friday is now a little over a month away, and there’s always a temptation to see whether further discounts are in store, but I’d be surprised if this Nintendo Switch 2 bundle fell any further. If you’ve been waiting patiently to grab one, now’s an opportune moment.
