There’s no avoiding that PCIe 5.0 SSDs are expensive, 9100 Pro included. However, with a little patience prices for these drives inevitably fall. Now, the Samsung’s flagship NVMe storage has seen its first cost reduction, just under two months from its initial launch.

“Delivering class-leading speed in a small package, Samsung’s 9100 Pro SSD makes a big splash following its long-awaited debut.” Read our review.

On Amazon US, you’ll find 9100 Pro starting from $169.99, netting you a 15% ($30) saving relative to its list price. That’s just for the base 1TB drive with no heatsink, but there are additional discounts of 9-14% up for grabs if you need built-in cooling or more capacity (2TB or 4TB). Regardless of which variant you choose, you’ll be paying the lowest ever price for this SSD.

9100 Pro boasts sequential read and write speeds of up to 14,800MB/s and 13,400MB/s, respectively. However, this ceiling only applies to the 4TB model, with 1TB and 2TB versions running 100MB/s slower in each category. Regardless of which capacity you choose, though, you’ll have one of the fastest PCIe 5.0 SSDs on the market at your disposal.

9100 Pro keeps pace with competing drives but its secret weapon lies in its efficiency. Consuming a maximum of 7.6-9.0W, it’s very lean under load for a PCIe 5.0 SSD. This not only makes it a great choice for battery-powered devices including laptops, but also means its operating temperatures are far easier to control allowing to maintain peak performance for longer.

Samsung continues to offer some of the most reliable solid state drives out there, backing up 9100 Pro with a five-year warranty. The SSD itself carries a 600TBW endurance per TB of storage too. You can always check in on the health of your storage via Magician Software too. Suffice to say, your data’s in safe hands here.
