AOC’s new OLED gaming monitor costs just £399, and the specs still look great

AOC's new QD-OLED monitors are now treading on LCDs' turf, boasting superior characteristics at very competitive prices.

AOC has just announced the first QD-OLED monitor in its mainstream Gaming lineup, bringing this premium technology to the masses with a surprisingly low price of just £399. Despite costing less than some IPS and VA equivalents, this screen still provides a high refresh rate, as well as the near-instant pixel response times that come with an OLED panel.

The Gaming Q27G4ZDR is a 26.5in monitor based on a 240Hz QHD (2560×1440) QD-OLED panel. It features the same fundamental OLED advantages as its peers, including a lightning-fast 0.03ms GtG response time, 1,500,000:1 static contrast, 400nits brightness (at 10 per cent APL), and 147.6 per cent sRGB / 99.1 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut coverage. The result is a sharp 110.84 PPI (pixels per inch) display that you could easily mistake for a more expensive model.

Thanks to its 10-bit panel and OLED’s inherent per-pixel dimming, the Q27G4ZDR is a prime candidate for HDR content consumption. In this department, AOC indicates support for HDR10, ensuring detailed highlights in games and movies. That said, there’s no mention of True Black 400 certification for this monitos, which leads us to believe that AOC may be targeting peak brightness instead of deep blacks.

Either way, the gaming experience should be great, providing clear and blur-free visuals even during fast action sequences. This is complemented by its support for Adaptive-Sync technologies, including Nvidia G-Sync compatibility, ensuring fluid and tear-free gameplay.

Connection-wise, there’s one DisplayPort 1.4 input, two HDMI 2.1 ports, plus a dual USB 3.2 5Gb/s hub. Handily, the Q27G4ZDR also offers PiP and PbP modes, allowing you to switch between multiple machines with ease. Console gamers aren’t forgotten either, with this AOC screen offering 120Hz QHD support for both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.

As usual, AOC is also bundling its gaming features suite, from Shadow Control for enhance visibility in dark game areas to per-game-genre optimised settings. All of this is put inside AOC’s signature G4-series design, rocking a geometrical styling that fits within various gaming setups. Lastly, regarding ergonomics, this model has it all: -3° to 21.5° tilt, 30° swivel, 90° pivot, and 130mm height adjustments, as well as 100mm VESA mounting.

The AOC Gaming Q27G4ZDR will be available from mid-November 2025 at a £399 MSRP, making it the cheapest QD-OLED monitor we’ve seen. Even discounted models from today are still usually above this price, with the only exception we’ve found below that level being the Agon Pro AG276QZD2 at £378.95 instead of £498.95. Most importantly, despite its affordable nature, AOC is backing this model with the same three years of burn-in coverage. With such a package, competing LCDs look set to have a hard time convincing gamers in the future.
