AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card prices are now cheaper than ever

With prices starting at just £539.99, now is a fantastic time to upgrade to our favourite mid-range GPU.

There might be some scary talk of imminent graphics card price hikes doing the rounds, but right now there’s never been a better time to buy an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT. Amazon is currently selling the Sapphire Pulse 9070 XT for just £539.99 in the UK, a good £30 below MSRP. Not only that, but you can also buy the awesome Nitro+ model with its excellent cooler for just £599.99 in the UK, and $699.99 in the US, both of which are its cheapest ever price.

Built to deliver all you need for ultra-fast gaming, with next-level visuals and features, elevated with AI.” – AMD

We gave this card a Recommended award in our Radeon RX 9070 XT review, where we were impressed by its cool, low-noise operation for the huge performance on offer, as well as its premium build quality. The cheaper Pulse model is also well worth considering at this price, as they’re both based on AMD’s current fastest GPU, which is an absolute beast.

Introducing us to the new RDNA 4 architecture, Radeon RX 9070 XT saw AMD playing a big game of catch up with Nvidia, and overtaking the rival Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 by a significant margin. With 16GB of VRAM at its disposal, the 9070 XT can play some games at settings that are simply off limits to the 5070, plus it has more GPU power in the tank as well.

This big and beautiful pixel pusher is full of features that delight and surprise.” – Read our review.

In fact, in some of our tests, the Sapphire Nitro+ 9070 XT even beats the pricier Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti, including Assassin’s Creed Mirage at all resolutions (the 9070 XT can still clock up over 100fps at 4K in this title), and Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord at 1080p, as well as 3DMark Steel Nomad. Make no mistake, you’re getting a formidable chunk of GPU for your money here.

These cards also support AMD’s new FSR 4 upscaling tech, which is vastly superior to previous versions of FSR in terms of image quality. It doesn’t have the super-wide game support of Nvidia’s DLSS tech, but it’s found in several key titles now, including Assassin’s Creed Shadows, Borderlands 4, Hogwarts Legacy, Cyberpunk 2077, and Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. That means you can give your frame rate a decent boost by upscaling from a lower resolution, while still maintaining decent image quality.

After launch, high demand for 9070 XT cards, along with low supply, resulted in prices that were much higher than MSRP. However, that situation has now resolved, particularly in the UK where these latest GPU deals put prices below the launch MSRP. If you want to buy a new mid-range GPU, don’t buy the 12GB RTX 5070, grab one of these discount 16GB AMD GPUs instead. With all the talk of incoming GPU price rises, we’d get in quick too.
