Amazon has just slashed the prices of several Fire Stick models in an early Prime Day Deal, enabling you to pick up a Select stick in the US for only $17.99, or the improved Plus model for just $24.99. The latter is also down to £24.99 in the UK, giving you a huge 58% saving over the £59.99 MSRP, and marking its lowest ever price.

That’s a cracking price for this nifty gizmo, which plugs into an HDMI port on your TV, and also comes with a remote control. If the smart interface on your ageing TV is becoming sluggish, with apps crashing, or if you just want to easily add TV streaming features to a standard 4K screen, a Fire TV stick offers a really easy way to upgrade your setup without having to fork out for a new TV. At these current prices, it’s a no brainer.
In case you need a primer in the differences between all these devices, all of them will output a 4K signal and provide access to all the major streaming services, including Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+, and Apple TV +. If that’s all you need, then the Select model offers a great deal at its current price of just $17.99, coming with 8GB of storage space, Wi-Fi 5 support, and 1GB of LPDDR4 RAM.
Splashing a little more money on the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus ($24.99 in the US, or £24.99 in the UK) will net you an extra 1GB of RAM, giving the user interface and apps some more breathing room so they’re more responsive. You’ll also then get full support for Wi-Fi 6, as well as Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital+, and Dolby Atmos, if you have a supporting surround sound system (the Select version only offers a stereo output and Dolby Digital pass-through). Owners of the latest HDR screens will benefit from Dolby Vision support on this stick as well.
Finally, the Fire TV Stick 4K Max is now on offer for $34.99 in the US, and gives you a slightly faster CPU and 16GB of storage space, as well as all the HDR and audio features of the Plus version.
