Finding Ryzen 7 9800X3D at its launch price has proven difficult since the processor hit the scene, but there’s finally some worldwide movement on the cost of this coveted chip. You’ll want to get one into your basket pronto, though, as I’ve little doubt a horde of enthusiasts will clamour for this CPU deal.

There’s little doubt that Ryzen 7 9800X3D is the best gaming processor on the market.Read our review.

UK shoppers will find Ryzen 7 9800X3D on Amazon for £399.95, down 11% (£50.04) from RRP. Meanwhile, those in the US can find the same CPU for $429.99, netting a 10% ($50.99) discount. Regardless of which region you’re purchasing the processor in, you’ll be bagging the chip for its lowest ever price.

What makes Ryzen 7 9800X3D so special isn’t the processor’s eight cores, 16 threads, or maximum boost clock of 5.2GHz. Instead, it’s the chip’s 96MB pool of L3 cache, made possible through AMD 3D V-Cache technology. This one feature can massively increase performance in applications and games, primarily the latter.

As you can see from the benchmarks above, Ryzen 7 9800X3D will decidedly emerge the fastest processor of all in some games. Not every title will take to 3D V-Cache in the same manner, but the processor still packs plenty of punch to deliver a great experience otherwise. For those who demand as many frames as possible and don’t want to splurge for a Ryzen 9 SKU, there’s no finer option.

You will need to source cooling for Ryzen 7 9800X3D, as the processor doesn’t arrive with a stock cooler. At 120W, most coolers should be able to tame the CPU. However, if you’re after some recommendations, I recently put three Noctua coolers up against AMD’s gaming champ, which should prove useful reading.
