AOC Agon Pro AG276QKD2 brings down the price of 500Hz QD-OLED monitors

AOC takes the 500Hz fight to its competitors, slashing prices with this premium product.

AOC has launched the Agon Pro AG276QKD2, its latest 500Hz gaming monitor. Powered by Samsung’s 3rd-gen QD-OLED panels, it offers a heady mix of speed, image detail, and colour depth, not to forget a fully-adjustable stand and USB hub, making it suitable for all sorts of tasks. All at a great price that is hard to beat.

The Agon Pro AG276QKD2 represents the brand’s continuation in pushing performance and value, offering the possibility for more to enjoy smooth gaming. While the 500Hz is not exclusive to AOC, the company complements it with a nice suite of features that make it hard to pass by. For instance, unlike its predecessor, which tops at DisplayHDR True Black 400, this model features DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, indicating its higher brightness and impactful HDR experience. The Agon Pro AG276QKD2 is advertised to reach 300nits full screen, 515nits at 10% APL, and 1,000nits peak at 3% APL (Average Picture Level).

This goes hand in hand with QD-OLED’s outstanding contrast and per-pixel local dimming, making content feel more alive than ever. There’s also the 0.03ms GtG response time that ensures each pixel switches state at lightning speed. Talking of which, AOC claims that this panel covers 99.1% of DCI-P3, 98.0% of Adobe RGB, as well as 147.6% of the sRGB gamuts, making it equally suited for professional and creative work. So, if you like watching dark movies, creating content, or playing competitive games, the Agon Pro AG276QKD2 is right up your alley.

For this model, AOC opts once more for a QHD (2560×1440) resolution across a 26.5in panel, delivering a good mix between image sharpness and screen size. This also makes it easier on the graphics card compared to 4K, resulting in the higher fps required to take advantage of its 500Hz refresh. For those unaware, despite refreshing at 500Hz, with OLED-based panels, if your frame rate isn’t high, you won’t see a difference between it and a slower display. In other words, these are more realistic specs that can be handled by modern PCs.

To push these many frames at the panel’s 10-bit colour depth, the Agon Pro AG276QKD2 comes equipped with a full-speed DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 80Gb/s port – a thing that can’t be said about many competing products – plus two HDMI 2.1 ports for console players. To be fair, most users won’t notice a difference between a 10-bit DisplayPort 2.1 and a compressed DisplayPort 1.4a stream. So don’t let it weigh in your purchasing decision.

What will, however, is the Agon Pro AG276QKD2’s £679 MSRP, making it the cheapest monitor rocking these specs, at least that we are aware of. This great price is complemented by a three-year burn-in warranty that should give you peace of mind.
