Arctic’s new reversible 140mm fans look perfect for a fish tank PC case

As cases with multiple glass panels become widespread, you need fans that look good as well as offering decent performance.

Arctic has expanded its lineup of P Pro Reverse fans, introducing some larger 140mm models that can push out more air than their 120mm siblings. Most importantly, you can reverse their blades, so you don’t need to see any ugly crossframes behind your case’s glass panels.

These new spinners join the 120mm P12 Pro Reverse and the regular P12 Pro series, completing the set and giving users a wide variety of choices. Like their smaller siblings, the P14 Pro Reverse would make a perfect fit inside the Arctic’s Xtender VG case. Their reversed blades ensure that the hub supports are on the hidden side of the fan, giving you a clean look, especially on the RGB-lit variants.

These fans should also provide great performance, thanks to their optimised blade design and funnel-shaped inlet, which Arctic says will reduce turbulence and maximise efficiency. Arctic is also proud of its 1mm clearance between the blades and frame, which it says enables higher static pressure and maximum airflow.

Furthermore, each fan has automatic balancing and a fluid dynamic bearing with an extended shaft, guaranteeing low-vibration operation and pressure distribution. Lastly, the built-in microcontroller is configured to reduce motor noise by compensating for load fluctuations, all while protecting against inrush currents and reverse polarity. The result should be a high-performance fan that produces little noise.

The brand advertises up to 98cfm / 166.5m³/h of airflow and 5.1mmH2O of static pressure, with speed ranging from 400 to 2,650rpm. Plus, thanks to the extra PWM connectors, you can daisy-chain multiple fans to be powered and controlled via a single motherboard header. That’s handy if you plan to populate each fan mount in your chassis. Note, however, that these blowers are 30mm thick, which is better for performance than slimmer models, but can cause compatibility issues, particularly with radiators.

The P14 Pro Reverse series can be found on Amazon, eBay, and Arctic’s web shop at the following prices, backed by a six-year warranty:

The P14 Pro Reverse series is available in black or white, and with or without RGB lighting. The RGB variants come equipped with 12 digitally controllable LEDs, which should enable a decent level of effect customisability. These effects can be configured through your preferred lighting software, including SignalRGB.
