Don’t count on Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 Super Series cards launching this year

As one person cries 'delay' another claims otherwise.

Following the launch of RTX 5050, Nvidia hasn’t publicly revealed any plans for future SKUs in the GeForce RTX 50 Series lineup. Despite this radio silence, rumours have persisted that the brand is working on a ‘Super’ refresh, with many expecting a launch before the end of the year. For those still holding out hope, you may need to wait a while longer.

Posting on X, hardware leaker honxing2020 shared news of an alleged GeForce RTX 50 Super Series delay. Since then, outlet WCCFTech has gone one step further, claiming that Nvidia had no intention of launching a refresh this year, describing prior reports of a 2025 launch window as categorically false.

While WCCFTech disagrees with hongxing2020 on Nvidia’s launch plans for GeForce RTX 50 Super Series, the outlet does give specification leaks some legitimacy. More specifically, it gives credence to specs that kopite7kimi shared back in June 2025.

So, GeForce RTX 50 Super Series is a matter of when rather than if. Should 2025 be off the cards entirely, then CES 2026 is the next most-logical launch pad for the refresh. Nvidia previously launched RTX 40 Super SKUs during CES 2024.

This would also leave a healthy year-gap between current models and Super replacements, giving Nvidia time to wind down production of the former. After all, the company is already allegedly cutting RTX 5060 shipments to avoid oversupply.

Coincidentally, this potential launch window would be of some benefit to the long-rumoured Arc B770. Recent leaks claim that card could hit store shelves imminently, and I’m sure Intel would welcome not having to share the spotlight with Nvidia.

As ever, these remain leaks and rumours. We’ll keep an ear out for any official word or peep from Nvidia regarding the existence and launch plans for GeForce RTX 50 Series. In the meantime, don’t lose hope that we’ll see Blackwell GPUs sporting more GDDR7 VRAM.
