After drumming up excitement for an Arc B770 launch via social channels prior to Computex 2025, the GPU didn’t materialise during its showcase. Instead, the company championed new Arc Pro B Series models designed for professional users. However, recent rumours suggest that we may just need to wait a little while longer before Team Blue’s Battlemage architecture expands beyond the budget market.
Outlet Tweakers claims to have spoken to several sources at Computex who have all confirmed the existence of Arc B770. Furthermore, they also state that Intel plans to release the graphics card in the second half of 2025, presumably in Q4. However, the site caveats that this launch target remains subject to change.
Unfortunately, Tweakers didn’t unearth any potential specifications for Arc B770. Prior leaks suggest the BMG-G31 die could sit at its heart, outperforming the BMG-G21 GPU that powers Arc B580 and B570. Intel has never shared what specifications BMG-G31 boasts, but prior rumours suggest it’d pack 32 Xe cores marking a 60% increase from BMG-G21. Other welcome boosts supposedly include 16GB of GDDR6(X) VRAM and a 256-bit bus, putting it on par with the likes of Radeon RX 9070.
It’s unclear how Intel would price Arc B770, other than it would undoubtedly be more expensive than Arc B580. Aiming somewhere in the region of $300-400 makes the most sense to me, challenging Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5060 Series and AMD’s Radeon RX 9060 XT. Of course, this is providing that the graphics card remains competitive with those models.
Six months is a long time in the world of graphics cards, and both AMD and Nvidia could spring new models on the market in that time. For the moment, Team Green is reportedly eyeing up a GeForce RTX 5080 Super refresh at the very least before the year’s end so anything is possible.
