Apple really has turned the laptop market on its head with its past few generations of MacBook. The custom silicon inside these machines is difficult to beat on performance, and recent discounts make the system a great-value purchase too.

MacBook Air 15 (M4, 16GB, 512GB)

Speed of lightness. – Apple

On Amazon US, MacBook Air 15 complete with M4 chip, 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage is up for grabs at $1,199. That’s down 14% ($200) from the laptop’s list price. Better still, this discount applies to all colourways, so you pick whichever you prefer at their best ever price.

These savings haven’t left UK shoppers behind either. You can purchase this same specification, in all colours, for £1249. That’s 11% (£150) off RRP, and once again the lowest MacBook Air 15 has ever been in terms of cost from Amazon.

As mentioned, this MacBook Air 15 is a cut above the base configuration that Apple offers, with double the amount of built-in storage. It’s important to note that you can’t upgrade the internal SSD or RAM on these systems, but you can supplement the former with external drives and cloud services.

That’s the only point of caution on an otherwise exceptional laptop, though. The M4 chip at the heart of this MacBook Air is a beast, sporting 10 CPU cores, 10 GPU cores, and a 16-core Neural Engine. The silicon makes for zippy general computing as well as excellent performance in creative applications, and can even handle a spot of gaming too.

Of course, the reason you’ll want MacBook Air 15 over the 13 is that larger screen. Those extra two inches make a world of difference, netting you the same 224PPI thanks to a higher 1864p resolution but in a larger screen space. This makes multi-tasking far easier, but also makes for more immersive experiences while watching content or playing games.

You won’t have to worry about MacBook Air 15 kicking up a noisy fuss under load as Apple doesn’t equip the system with a fan. Instead, the laptop relies on passive cooling, which works surprisingly well to the point it’s difficult to return to a portable PC with any kind of blower.

Apple claims you’ll be able to squeeze 18 hours of video streaming, or 15 hours of web browsing, from MacBook Air 15’s 66.5WHr battery. While the included 35W charger will juice the laptop back up at a decent speed, those wanting faster charging should look to the 70W adapter.
