Intel confirmed that it’s aiming to launch the next generation of Intel Arc graphics cards in 2024. A presentation made to its channel partners highlights Team Blue’s product stack from 2023 through 2024. More importantly, it reveals that the Intel Arc Xe² discrete GPU lineup, codenamed ‘Battlemage,’ is almost ready for deployment. Let’s dig in!

Japanese media publication, 4Gamer, leaked several presentation slides from a Japanese launch event of Intel Core Ultra CPUs. The slides include a ‘One Intel’ presentation, a visual compute roadmap, and a multi-year roadmap from 2022 and beyond.

Intel Arc - Visual Compute Roadmap showcasing released and upcoming Intel GPUs and CPUs.

The visual roadmap highlights Intel’s product lineup from 2022 including the Intel Arc ‘Alchemist,’ Alder Lake, and Raptor Lake releases. We also see scheduled releases for ‘Meteor Lake,’ and ‘Battlemage’ planned between 2023-2024. Plus, upcoming Intel Arc ‘Celestial’ and ‘Druid’ architectures are in the works beyond 2024.

Moving on, the One Intel presentation slides reveals a timeline of launched and planned product releases. These comprise Intel 14th Gen Core series Desktop / Mobile CPUs, ‘Xeon’ Workstation CPUs, and discrete GPUs including the Intel Arc A580. The timeline ends in 2024, and implies that Battlemage should coincide with the company’s ‘Meteor Lake’ and ‘Arrow Lake’ processors.

Not much else is known about the Intel Arc Xe² architecture, except that Intel plans on targeting the high-end market. Based on rumour’s past, the Battlemage GPU aims to rival Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 4080, when it comes to performance.

The alleged monolithic die might feature 64 Xe cores clocked at 3GHz. Plus, 48MB of L2 cache, and a 256-bit bus connecting GDDR6X memory. Not forgetting to mention that its ExtraSS extrapolation tech could rival the likes of DLSS Frame Generation. It seems Intel might actually give both AMD and Nvidia a run for their money.
