Still leaning into a tiny 720p screen at work? Get word to the bosses an upgrade is long overdue and needn’t break the bank.
To that end, iiyama has announced its new ProLite XUB2790QSUH-B2 monitor, featuring a high-refresh, high-resolution panel plus an integrated webcam. Expected to fetch around £240, it has just about everything you need in a professional setting, and then some.
Building on the essentials in an office setup, the latest ProLite XUB2790QSUH is an adequately-sized 27in monitor with built-in collaboration tools. Its integrated 5MP Windows Hello webcam and mic simplifies your life by allowing seamless and secure session logins while providing a robust interface for video calls. It does so while maintaining comfortable all-day use, thanks to its flicker-free, low blue-light screen, and fully adjustable stand. There’s also an integrated KVM, making the monitor a great choice for multitaskers who like to switch between different PCs. As usual with the ProLite lineup, there are no flashy LEDs or obnoxious logo placements, just a sleek-looking monitor.

Within the clean design we find a 2560×1440 QHD IPS panel running at 100Hz, giving owners a nice boost in smoothness compared to typical 60Hz panels. Contrast and brightness are typical for an IPS, advertised as 1,300:1 and 250nits, respectively. Colour coverage is rated at 99% sRGB or 72% NTSC, while a matte finish helps keep reflections at bay.
Efficiency is another strength, with the panel consuming 26W during typical use and just 0.5W in standby mode. Not bad considering it has a webcam, mic, plus two 2W speakers to power in addition to the screen itself.
Unsurprisingly, the XUB2790QSUH is built to make your experience as comfortable as possible, offering 150mm height, 90° pivot, 60° swivel on each side, and from -5° to +23° tilt adjustments. This should help you maintain a healthy and comfortable posture all day long, or at least prevent you from practicing the shrimp sitting position. A 100m VESA arm mount is also available for those wanting more control or those rocking a multi-monitor setup.

Moving to connectivity, we find one HDMI 2.0, one DisplayPort 1.4, one USB Type-C with DP Alt mode and 65W power delivery, a 3.5mm headphone jack, plus a three-port USB 3.2 5Gb/s hub. The latter goes hand in hand with the built-in KVM switch, making multi-machine control simpler. Though note that there is no mention of Picture by Picture or Picture in Picture modes. In the box, you’ll find all the cables you need to get going, including one HDMI, one DisplayPort, one USB, plus the power cord, each 1.8m long.
We’re accustomed to seeing extreme gaming monitors raise the bar for resolution and refresh rate, yet it’s in the workplace that upgrades are needed most. QHD at 100Hz, built-in KVM, onboard speakers and a built-in webcam. That’s a checklist of all the essentials a productivity panel ought to carry in 2025. Then it’s just a case of how productive you want to be, and if the bosses are feeling generous, drop an ultrawide ProLite XCB3497WQSNPH into the conversation.
