Arctic’s new BioniX fans reinvent daisy-chaining for clutter-free cooling

Sharing DNA with the P12 and P14 Pro, these fans will offer plenty of performance in addition to their convenient daisy-chaining method.

While I take pride in my cable management, I’ll avoid tidying wires wherever possible, and so Arctic’s new take on daisy-chaining fans has certainly caught my attention. The brand is launching a new BioniX series, which aims to connect our blowers via discrete bridges, providing the aesthetics of a whole frame while remaining modular.

In place of an unsightly string of A-RGB and PWM cables, Arctic has instead created small PCBs that slot into the top or bottom of its BioniX fans. The blowers connect with a satisfying click, creating a reliably strong lock between each unit that withstood our shake test.

Better still, you don’t need to install these PCBs in a particular orientation, simplifying installation. They’re hot swappable too, leaving and joining arrays without any issue in the demo we had at the Arctic Computex booth.

Of course, you’ll still need to connect a cable from one fan to your motherboard or hub, but clean finish this design offers is undeniably pleasing to the eye. Arctic also includes a PCB to PCB wire, enabling you to daisy chain blowers that aren’t on top of one another.

The BioniX P12 and P14 A-RGB share the same impeller and funnel design as the current P12 and P14 Pro fans. As such, you can expect similarly strong static pressure performance, with the added bonus of customisable LEDs and, most importantly, much simpler cable management.

Arctic informs us that street pricing for the BioniX P12 will be €10.99, while the P14 will arrive at €12.99, but these aren’t final single-pack MSRPs. The fans will be available in black and white, but we don’t yet know what the price difference will be between the two colourways.
