MSI just launched a tiny Intel Wildcat Lake PC, complete with Thunderbolt 4 and 2.5GbE LAN

This compact 0.55-litre mini-PC is designed to combines versatile connections with simple maintenance, all in a small footprint.

MSI has announced the Cubi NUC WCG, a compact 0.55-litre mini-PC designed for efficiency and adaptability. Powered by Intel’s Core Processor 3 Series chips, it should deliver good performance for its size, be it for everyday use or business applications.

Measuring just 40.1mm in height, the Cubi NUC WCG looks ideal for office use, taking up little desk space while offering plenty of connections. Thanks to its built-in Thunderbolt 4 port, it ensures high transfer speeds reaching 40Gbps while feeding devices up to 15W. This port can also be used to add another monitor to the mix, bringing the total to three simultaneous displays, boosting productivity while reducing clutter. Meanwhile, its cable organiser helps prevent accidental disconnections, while keeping your workspace neat.

Those who want the cleanest desk can also install the Cubi on their monitor’s back using a VESA mount. And don’t worry, MSI includes an optional external power switch so you can turn it on even if you put it in a hard-to-reach spot. Better yet, if you own a compatible MSI Power Link monitor, the mini-PC automatically powers on when you switch on your monitor.

MSI is planning three variants, powered by either a 5-core (1P+4LPE) Intel Core 3 304, 6-core (2P+4LPE) Intel Core 5 315, or 6-core (2P+4LPE) Intel Core 7 350 processor. Each of these can be paired with up to 64GB (2x32GB) of SO-DIMM DDR5 memory, plus an M.2 SSD of your choosing. Speaking of which, the Cubi NUC WCG offers easily accessible internals thanks to a toolless locking mechanism that lets you open the chassis without removing any screws.

In terms of connections, the Cubi NUC WCG comes equipped with a wide variety of ports, including two USB 10Gbps sockets, two USB 2.0 ports, plus a combo 3.5mm audio jack in the front, one Thunderbolt 4 port with DP Alt-Mode / 15W out / 98W in, one USB 20Gbps Type-C connector, two USB 2.0 ports, two HDMI 2.1 (one with MSI Power Link) outputs, plus two LAN ports (2.5GbE + 1GbE) on the back. Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 are also available.

MSI says the Cubi NUC WCG has undergone rigorous testing to ensure reliable 24/7 operation, on top of the included security features required by office users, such as fTPM for data encryption and Kensington lock for physical security.

MSI is backing up the Cubi NUC WCG with a three-year warranty, but pricing has yet to be disclosed.
