Whatever your AMD CPU socket, there are savings on Ryzen X3D chips ripe for the swiping on Amazon right now. This selection includes gaming and workstation champions, whether you’re after an AM4 refresh via a Ryzen 7 5800X3D or the latest AM5 powerhouse in the Ryzen 9 9950X3D, both of which are now at their lowest ever prices.

“A fascinating last hurrah for Zen 3, Ryzen 7 5800X3D gives gamers a final AM4 upgrade path.” Read our review.

Starting from the “oldest” processor of the bunch, the Ryzen 7 5800X3D 10th Anniversary Edition is down a modest 4% from its RRP, but nonetheless returns the chip to its most-affordable price since launch, at £299.

This is the best gaming processor for AM4 motherboards bar none, with eight Zen 3 cores and, of course, a plentiful pool of L3 cache. If you’re in search of a great upgrade for your existing DDR4 system, as you’re understandably unable or unwilling to make the expensive jump to AM5 and DDR5, this is the path to take.

Meanwhile, the former AM5 gamers’ favourite processor still has a lot to give, particularly as the Ryzen 7 7800X3D is now available with a 38% discount bringing the CPU down to £279.99. While that’s not quite the lowest ever price for this chip, it’s not far off with a £14.99 difference, and remains a high-value pick regardless.

This CPU still holds its own against its successor in terms of gaming frame rates, as our 7800X3D vs 9800X3D analysis demonstrates. That all-important 3D V-Cache arrives alongside eight Zen 4 cores, capable of reaching 5GHz.

While standard Ryzen processor performance is particularly sensitive to memory speeds, the large pool of L3 cache makes this less of a concern. In short, you don’t have to splurge for high-performance RAM to squeeze the most performance out of this chip.

“The conqueror of frame rates is here.” Read our review.

For those who must have as close to the absolute highest frame rates possible, the Ryzen 7 9800X3D can now be yours for £344.99. That’s 23% off its RRP. What’s more, that cost includes a copy of Onimusha: Way of the Sword at no additional premium, worth £59.99, effectively bringing the chip’s value down to £285, which would make for its most-affordable price ever.

The 9800X3D combines all the latest tech AMD has to offer the processor space, including eight Zen 5 cores and second-generation 3D V-Cache. The latter sees the 64MB of extra L3 memory shift below the CPU cores, netting better thermal performance and stability, while also unlocking the ability to push the processor beyond its stock 5.2GHz boost clock via overclocking.

If you fancy spending a little extra for a small performance boost, the Ryzen 7 9850X3D with its 5.6GHz boost clock is available for £359.99 (complete with the same Onimusha bundle). Splashing out that extra £15 will net you higher frame rates in some titles. Read our Ryzen 7 9850X3D vs 9800X3D piece for more details.

AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D

Rounding off Amazon’s X3D sale, we come at last to the second-most-powerful processor in AMD’s current arsenal, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D. Like the 5800X3D, we’re dealing with a modest 4% discount but this brings the CPU to its lowest ever price at £479.99. That’s not forgetting the fact this chip is part of the same Onimusha bundle that the 9800X3D enjoys.

With 16 Zen 5 cores, 32 threads, and a 5.7GHz boost clock, the 9950X3D will tackle practically any task you throw at it with ease. Gaming performance is similar to that of the 9800X3D in most cases, but where this CPU with 144MB of L3 cache really shines above its 8-core sibling is in workstation tasks, such as video editing and scientific number crunching.
