Apple has balanced aesthetics and performance to great effect for decades, with current generation MacBook Airs continuing this proud tradition. These systems are as petite as they are portable as they are powerful, ticking all the boxes you could want from a laptop. Now, there’s never been a better time to pick one up for school, work, or whatever else you need the system for.

Apple MacBook Air 13in M4
“With the perfectly portable MacBook Air, you’ll be ready to take on just about anything, anywhere.” – Apple
On Amazon US, you’ll find MacBook Air 13in with M4 starting at just $799.00, down 20% ($200) from the laptop’s list price. This discount applies to every colourway, including Midnight, Silver, Sky Blue, and Starlight. Whichever colour speaks to you, you’ll be paying the lowest price this system’s ever sold for on the storefront.
Slender and stunning as MacBook Airs are, they’re more than a pretty face. Starting with silicon, Apple outfits the laptop with an M4 SoC. This the company’s baseline chip, which feels barmy to say considering how much performance its 10 CPU and 8 GPU cores pack.
Outside of the SoC, Apple’s finally increased baseline memory capacity to 16GB. However, you will need to manage the admittedly small 256GB of non-upgradeable storage that comes with this configuration of MacBook Air. It’s nothing the cloud or external drives can’t fix, but a necessary consideration regardless.
Open up the lid, and a 13.6in Liquid Retina screen greets your eyes. Sporting a native 1664p resolution, this panel is pin-sharp. Better still, a peak brightness of 500nits and wide colour gamut coverage makes content display accurately and with plenty of punch. It does only support a 60Hz refresh rate but that’s something I can stomach.
Finally, this lightweight laptop has plenty of connectivity lining its underside. MacBook Air comes with a MagSafe charger which receives its own port. Outside of that, you also have two Thunderbolt 4 inputs which each offer 40Gb/s bandwidth, complete with Power Delivery and DP. Alt Mode.
All the Macbook Air colours this generation are gorgeous to my eye, making it difficult to decide which to pick. My brain says go with the classic silver colourway, but something about sky blue speaks to my heart. Here’s hoping you don’t end up with the same choice paralysis as me and can just get on enjoying your new laptop.
