AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D already packs a lot of value, rightfully earning its place as our best CPU for gaming in 2023. In what seems like a Christmas miracle, the processor has received a second discount in as many days, bringing it to another all-time low price.
Usually, you’d have to wait a whole year to see the costs of current generation hardware come down in price. Not this time, though. At just £327.31, it’s a far cry from the £450 RRP it cost in May. You’ll regularly see it around £370-380, but it’s never been this low before. Amazon has even slightly undercut Overclockers UK by a couple of quid, but both feature top-tier customer service.
The same chip is also 20% less expensive in the US, coming down to a much more manageable $358.14 price tag. This isn’t quite the lowest price we’ve seen across the Atlantic, but it’s within just $10 of it. Both discounts leave room in the budget for one of the best CPU coolers.
While it’s nearly identical to the standard Ryzen 7 7800X, the 3D V-Cache sets it apart. It sports a hugely inflated 96MB L3 cache that keeps it in step with Intel’s i9 range when gaming. What makes it more impressive is how it barely sips power at such high frame rates. It’s far more efficient than its direct peers, respecting your electric bill. After all, you don’t want to spend so much on a system for it to wring your bank account dry.
