Xbox has announced all titles joining Game Pass this month, featuring day-one releases, returning favourites, and AAA games. In total, 12 titles are joining the service, with the next batch scheduled for early January.

This month, Xbox and PC Game Pass members can play:

  • Remnant: From the Ashes (Cloud, Console, and PC) – Available Now
  • Remnant II (Cloud, PC, Xbox Series X|S) – Available Now
  • Spirit of the North (Cloud, Console, and PC) – December 1
  • SteamWorld Build (Cloud, Console, and PC) – Day One – December 1
  • Clone Drone in the Danger Zone (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – December 5
  • Rise of the Tomb Raider (Cloud, Console, and PC) – December 5
  • While the Iron’s Hot (Cloud, Console, and PC) – Day One – December 5
  • World War Z: Aftermath (Cloud, Console, and PC) – December 5
  • Goat Simulator 3 (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) – December 7
  • Against the Storm (PC) – December 8
  • Tin Hearts (Cloud, Console, and PC) – December 12
  • Far Cry 6 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – December 14

Besides the holiday season, the reason for this number of games in a single batch is that it includes all the games for this month. While previously we had two lineups each month, this time there’s a motherlode as the Xbox team is leaving for the holidays. I prefer this approach, because this way if nothing interests you, you may cancel your subscription until next month. It also offers more choice for everyone.

Recommendations

If you want some personal recommendations, in addition to Far Cry 6, Rise of the Tomb Raider has a nice story, World War Z is loads of fun smashing zombies with friends, plus the Dark Souls with guns, Remnant II, are all worth trying. But if you want pure fun, however, Goat Simulator 3 is the way to go.

Xbox Game Pass December game list.

If only Xbox had announced this list a week earlier, because I purchased Far Cry 6 on the Steam Autumn Sale. The Game Pass version is likely the base game without the additional story DLCs. In any case, if you haven’t yet grabbed this game or any of the others listed, have fun.

Those subscribed to the entry-level Game Pass Core, which replaced Xbox Live Gold, are also getting a bit of love. Two games are joining the Core tier on December 6: Chivalry 2 and Totally Reliable Delivery Service. This marks the first update to the Core subscription which is planned to be refreshed two to three times a year.

As usual, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members are getting some perks. This time the offer is KartRider: Drift – Lucci Loot Pack offering 14,000 Lucci to spend on KartRider. Plus, 3 Months of Discord Nitro granting an enhanced Discord experience with custom emojis, two Server Boosts a month, bigger upload sizes, and more.

Lastly, on December 15, four games are leaving the service:

  • Chained Echoes (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Opus Magnum (PC)
  • Potion Craft: Alchemist Simulator (Cloud, Console, and PC)
  • Rubber Bandits (Cloud, Console, and PC)

Until then you can buy each one at a 20% discount if you care about playing later.
