Intel has teased a new GPU set to be revealed in two weeks during Computex 2025 in Taipei. It will join the brand’s Arc Pro Series, targeting professionals dabbling in AI and content creation.
Likely based on Intel’s latest Battlemage graphics architecture, this GPU is set to refresh the Arc Pro lineup with a B60 model rocking all the features available on its gaming siblings, plus some more. Better yet, it is expected to house 24GB of memory, which is double what its A60 predecessor carried. The combination of its newer architecture and high VRAM capacity should allow it to handle more demanding tasks such as AI and video editing.
While Intel hasn’t shared specific details about this model, it will likely be powered by the existing BGM-G21 GPU since the brand has yet to release another chip. This means that we can expect Arc Pro B60 to feature up to 2,560 shading units, like Arc B580. For comparison, Arc Pro A60 housed an ACM-G12 GPU with 2,048 shading units based on the Alchemist architecture. This chip was paired with 12GB of GDDR6 memory running on a 192-bit bus, which resulted in 348GB/s of bandwidth.
Assuming Intel keeps a similar design, Arc Pro B60 could once more feature a slim single-slot blower cooler, better suited for servers and workstations.
Specs aside, Arc Pro B60 should also support AV1 encoding and decoding, among other codecs, like B580. This should enhance its appeal to content creators looking for an affordable solution for video work. Additionally, it should handle two 10-bit and 12-bit (decode only) 8K workloads with 4:2:2 and 4:2:0 chroma subsampling.
Intel Arc Pro series represents a strategic move to leverage the growing demand for professional GPUs. And, seeing how Arc B580 represented a solid generational improvement over the Alchemist line, Arc Pro B60 is definitely worth keeping an eye on. By offering enhanced memory capacities and advanced encoding features, Intel could position itself to grab some market share.
