MSI has announced the availability of its Pro Max Edge AI+ mini PC, powered by AMD’s Ryzen AI Max+ 395 chip. This compact machine carries enough memory and AI performance to run large language models (LLMs) locally, including GPT-OSS 120B and Qwen 3.6 35B.
Despite measuring just 97.5 x 188.4 x 248.5mm, this 4-litre mini PC has 16-core Zen 5 CPU, an integrated Radeon 8060S GPU, plus a 50 TOPS NPU. Most notably, it packs up to 128GB of unified LPDDR5x-8000 memory, 96GB of which can be allocated to the GPU. Combined with the GPU’s AI performance, MSI says this memory capacity allows the Pro Max Edge AI+ to accelerate 120B LLMs locally, including big models such as GPT-OSS 120B, which requires 65GB of VRAM.
Thanks to its strong CPU and GPU combo, MSI also says the Pro Max Edge AI+ can reduce processing times for 3D rendering and high-res video editing, making for a one-stop shop for professional work. MSI even advertises 80fps+ average frame rates at 2K resolution using frame generation in AAA game titles, if you plan on gaming after work, although that will really depend on the game. MSI claims the Pro Max Edge AI+ can do all of this while remaining whisper-quiet, thanks to its pure copper heatsink and triple fan setup.

MSI is particularly promoting this mini PC’s ability to run LLMs locally instead of in the cloud, reducing operating costs, while reducing reliance on cloud providers. Running LLMs locally also means fewer security risks and complete privacy, which are important when feeding sensitive business data to an AI system. Be it image generation, computer vision, coding, document analysis/summary, or AI agents/automation, the Pro Max Edge AI+ is built to handle it 100% offline.
MSI claims the following performance figures:
| LLM | VRAM usage | Avg. token/sec |
| Gemma4 E4B | 9.6GB | 50.51 |
| Gemma4 12B | 7.6GB | 23.24 |
| GPT-OSS 20B | 13GB | 44.36 |
| Gemma4 26B | 17GB | 51.85 |
| Qwen 3.6 35B | 23GB | 58.96 |
| GPT-OSS 120B | 65GB | 33.29 |
If this isn’t enough, flexible multi-unit clustering is also possible, allowing you to combine the performance of up to four nodes, depending on the LLM. This opens the way for local top-tier models boasting larger parameters, smarter reasoning, and ultra-long contexts.

In terms of connections, the Pro Max Edge AI+ can handle up to four displays and comes equipped with two USB 3.2 10Gbps ports, one USB 4 40Gbps Type-C socket (supporting DP Alt mode and 15W PD), one SD card reader (supporting SDXC), plus a 3.5mm combo jack on the front. The back side adds yet another USB 4 40Gb/s Type-C port (with DP Alt mode and 15W PD), a second 3.5mm combo jack, two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.2 10Gbps sockets, one HDMI 2.1 port, one DisplayPort 1.4a output, and one 2.5GbE LAN connector. Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7 are also available.
The MSI Pro Max Edge AI+ is available now from Scan for £4,799 with a 128GB setup, which is slightly below the official £4,999 MSRP.
