MSI has officially announced B850MPower, a new Socket AM5 motherboard built with overclocking in mind. This mid-range Micro-ATX board targets enthusiasts wanting to extract every drop of performance from their AMD Ryzen processors, prioritising function over form.
B850MPower is the brand’s first-ever model from the series on an AMD platform. The MPower family dates back to 2012, starting with Intel’s Z77 chipset. Like its forebears, the board focuses on overclocking performance, featuring only two DDR5 DIMMs to ensure the clean signalling needed for record-breaking speeds.
The motherboard also comes with a separate EZ Dashboard module, which provides access to power, reset, and clear CMOS functions, in addition to a debug display. Having these troubleshooting tools separate from the board should make it easier to discern and access.

As the name B850MPower implies, this board features AMD’s B850 chipset, supporting Ryzen 7000, 8000, and 9000 series processors, PCIe 5.0 expansion cards, and DDR5 memory. According to Alva Jonathan, who shared some information about the motherboard, it supports up to 128GB of memory in dual-channel mode, plus three M.2 SSDs. It also features an additional 8-pin power connector below the PCIe slots, meant to reduce the load on the 24-pin.
Importantly, B850MPower has more than enough voltage to feed the most-powerful AMD Ryzen CPUs, including the Ryzen 9 9950X and the 3D V-Cache-infused Ryzen 9 9950X3D.

To showcase the board’s features, MSI provided B850MPower units to overclockers during Computex 2025, where Alva Jonathan and his team managed to break several world records, such as the first place in Cinebench 2024 on 12-core processors, using liquid nitrogen overclocking.
B850MPower will launch in Q3 2025, but MSI hasn’t provided any pricing for the motherboard. Expect it to be more affordable than some flagship models, like MEG X870E Godlike, while retaining a high level of overclocking support.
