SeaSonic introduces Prime Enterprise PSUs, with OptiGuard protection and silicon 12V-2×6 cable

These new PSUs and cables are all about active monitoring and safety, giving you peace of mind when using high-power graphics cards.

We got a look at Seasonic’s new Prime Enterprise power supplies at Computex 2026, targeting multi-GPU workstations and servers. These advanced units feature the brand’s latest safety innovations, including OptiGuard power monitoring and a new 12V-2×6 cable design.

The Prime Enterprise lineup sees two new entries, the TX-1300 and TX-1600, respectively offering 1,300W and 1,600W of capacity. Both are ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compliant, boasting 80Plus Titanium and Cybenetics Titanium efficiency certifications.

Seasonic advertises up to 94% efficiency at 50% load using 115Vac. The PSUs also offer MTLR (Micro Tolerance Load Regulation) below 0.5%, ensuring that a power supply maintains an ultra-precise and constant output voltage, even when the current demand (load) rapidly fluctuates.

In addition to their focus on efficiency, these new PSUs also place great importance on safety and hardware protection, especially with regards to the 12V-2×6 connection. This is where OptiGuard comes in, a smart monitoring protection system.

OptiGuard provides active protection for high-power graphics cards by monitoring connectors to prevent overheating. The feature continuously monitors current and temperature directly at the GPU power connection, where electrical stress is highest. This real-time analysis allows it to detect abnormal electrical loads, current imbalance across individual power pins, and localised temperature increases at the connector level.

Should OptiGuard detect an abnormal operating condition, the feature will issue visible warnings (pictured below) while dynamically reducing load if necessary, or cutting power entirely if the abnormality reaches a critical threshold.

This preventative measure allows the power supply to respond to problems early, before issues escalate to more serious instabilities or even hardware damage. Monitoring data is also available for users to view via the brand’s software, including per-pin current sensing and temperature. Of course, the usual assortment of power protections, including including OPP, OVP, UVP, SCP, OCP, and OTP, complement this setup.

For those that want to further maximise reliability, Seasonic is separately selling a 12V-2×6 cable featuring silicon tips, rather than plastic. This material swap nets a higher melting point, meaning these wires should be able to withstand more current compared to regular cables.

More specifically, the silicon-tipped 12V-2×6 cable can handle up to 12.5A per pin, rather than 9.2A, and temperatures up to 105°C (up for 85°C). This new design also reduces the number of individually sleeved wires users will need to manage. Despite their large diameter, they remain very flexible, reducing the force applied to the GPU header.

These Prime Enterprise power supplies should release sometime in Q3 2026, but Seasonic is yet to disclose pricing,
