AOC releases a 34in gaming monitor powered by 5th gen QD-OLED panel reaching 1,300 nits

This monitor takes the latest innovations in OLED technology and combines them with a range of features to enhance the user experience.

AOC has launched the Agon Pro AGP346UCSD in China, a curved 34in ultrawide gaming monitor powered by 5th gen QD-OLED. It combines great panel characteristics with a modern feature set, including aspects found mainly on professional displays.

The Agon Pro AGP346UCSD uses the latest 5th gen QD-OLED technology featuring multi-stack OLED layers – referred to as tandem OLED and a V-stripe sub-pixel layout. The former allows this monitor to reach up to 1,300 nits of brightness in HDR, delivering an impactful viewing experience while maintaining OLED’s renowned deep black levels.

While the brand hasn’t made claims regarding full-screen brightness, it advertised DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification, which is as good as it gets. The V-stripe sub-pixel layout, on the other hand, improves text clarity by using a traditional sub-pixel layout instead of the triangle layout generally associated with QD-OLEDs.

But that’s not all. The panel rocks a 3440×1440 WQHD resolution at a fast 360Hz refresh rate, making it suitable for gaming, content consumption, and even work. In fact, unlike most gaming monitors, which at best claim a DeltaE below 2 colour accuracy out of the box, AOC advertises a DeltaE below 1, which is mainly found on professional-grade displays.

While I’m at it, the specs also indicate 100% coverage of the sRGB colour gamut and 99% coverage of DCI-P3, thanks to its true 10-bit panel. This means that you can use this monitor for colour-critical work as well as gaming, making it a versatile solution if you have one system for both work and entertainment.

On top of this high-quality panel, AOC opts for an 1800R curve to better take advantage of the 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio, enveloping the user’s view. Those who plan to use this for work will also appreciate support for PiP and PbP modes, boosting efficiency by taking advantage of the extra real estate.

To take full advantage of its wide resolution, high refresh rate, and 10-bit colours, the Agon Pro AGP346UCSD comes equipped with fast video connectivity, too, including one DisplayPort 2.1 UHBR20 (80Gb/s), two HDMI 2.1 (48Gb/s), plus one USB Type-C with 15W power delivery and DP Alt mode. These are complemented by a triple-port USB 3.2 Gen 1 hub and a 3.5mm audio jack.

The model also comes with two 8W speakers for those who play on consoles or don’t have a dedicated audio system. Lastly, in terms of ergonomics, we find a stand adjustable by 150mm in height, 16° swivel, and from -5° to 23° in tilt. A 100mm VESA mount is also available if you need unlimited control.

The AOC Agon Pro AGP346UCSD is available for pre-order in China at ¥6,999 (£755). We can expect a higher price if and when it reaches our shores.
