EzBench is a free GPU benchmark and stress test based on Unreal Engine 5

“Guaranteed to make your computer sweat.”

Ready for another way to put your GPU through its paces? EzBench is a new benchmark built around Epic’s Unreal Engine 5 to push even the best GPUs to their limits.

Made by Norwegian game developer Eztheory AS, this test features modern rendering technologies including raytracing and cinematic quality assets alongside high-resolution 8K textures; enough to make even an RTX 3090 Ti scream.

Those of you getting low frame rates mustn’t panic (just yet) as this tool represents the worst-case scenario; it isn’t indicative of today’s optimised games, but might provide a glimmer of the pain that’s to come.

These are the benchmark’s official system requirements:

Minimum
OS: Windows 10 or 11
Processor: 7th Gen Intel or Equivalent
Memory: 16GB RAM
Graphics: GTX 1080 (or AMD Equivalent) with 8GB VRAM recommended
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 25GB available space

Recommended
OS: Windows 10 or 11
Processor: 10th Gen Intel or Equivalent
Memory: 32GB RAM
Graphics: RTX 3000 Series (or AMD Equivalent)
DirectX: Version 12
Storage: 25GB available space

For fun, I ran this benchmark using an RX 570 (1,380MHz core and 2,130MHz memory), Core i5-6600K (4.4Ghz), and 16GB DDR4-3200. No surprises here, it was literally a slide show hitting a massive 7.9FPS netting 6,760 points in the normal test, with 2.5FPS and 2,400 points in the extreme test.

Think you’ve got what it takes to beat these scores? EzBench can be downloaded for free via Steam.
