NZXT just launched its most powerful fans yet, and they’re easy to fit – meet the Performance F Series

With smart looks and easy installation, these new multi-fan blocks look ideal for anyone looking to improve their case's airflow with minimal fuss.

NZXT has announced a new lineup of super-powerful fans, and they’re mounted in a single-frame, multi-fan block to make installation easy, while improving airflow. The new NZXT Performance F range comprises five sizes: 120mm, 140mm, 240mm, 280mm, and 360mm, catering to most people’s fan mounts. The company also says that each fan is tuned to deliver the highest airflow and static pressure of any NZXT fan, using advanced materials to maximise cooling while minimising noise. They look like a perfect match for the NZXT H Series PC cases.

All the models are available in black or white and with RGB lighting. They also all have brushed aluminium sides to give them a sleek/premium look, complementing the refreshingly subtle and refined RGB illumination around the edges. The latter can be customised within NZXT’s CAM app or your motherboard’s software.

Of course, the special sauce of this series is that unibody design, which puts multiple fans inside a single frame. The idea is to remove the air leakage caused by the seams between fans, while providing a simple-to-install product. The result is a user-friendly design that NZXT says offers better performance, as well as a more attractive finish, than regular fans. That said, if one fan dies on a multi-fan model, you will probably need to replace the whole thing, which won’t be cheap.

Regarding performance, NZXT claims the models based on 140mm spinners can produce up to 104CFM of airflow and 7.53mmH2O of static pressure, with and 116CFM / 5.78mmH2O figures for models using 120mm fans. Unsurprisingly, this performance doesn’t come free, with noise levels reaching up to 41dBA at 3,100RPM and 2,400RPM, on each respective size. However, NZXT also claims that you can still get up to 81CFM at just 30dBA by reducing the fan speed.

To achieve these performance figures, NZXT says it opted for the latest advancements in fan manufacturing, using liquid-crystal polymer (LCP) resistance to provide some flex and reduce vibration at high speeds. This enabled NZXT to target a minimal blade-to-frame gap of 0.5-0.9mm, resulting in less turbulence and air leakage. This is complemented by a thicker-than-usual 30mm shell, giving the blades more room to move air efficiently.

Behind the scenes, we find a 3-phase 6-pole motor running the show, which should deliver smooth and precise control with low energy use. It connects to the blades via a hybrid magnetic levitation and fluid dynamic bearing system, so you get the magnet’s ability to maintain centred and stable blades, along with the fluid bearing’s lower friction and wear.

The NZXT Performance F Series fans will be available at the following prices, backed by a five-year warranty.
