It’s that time of the year when every major platform reminds you of the time you dedicated to it. Among these is Steam, which gives you a little yearly recap that includes various game stats spanning from January 1 to December 14, 2025. These include play time, the number of games you played, the achievements you unlocked, and even the split between keyboard and controller use. All of this is then compared to the rest of the Steam community to tell you your positioning contrast with the median.
For my part, it seems that I have spent too many hours in Destiny 2, World of Tanks, and The Witcher 3, representing 36%, 17%, and 16% of my total play time this year. Overall, I played 37 games and unlocked 237 achievements. According to Steam’s data, I prefer recent games that are seven years old or newer. As a comparison, the median for Steam users is 11 achievements and 4 games. I need to get out more!
At the time of writing, since I started, I have spent 2,981 hours in Destiny 2 and 206 hours in World of Tanks. That said, this doesn’t take into consideration the time I spent outside of Steam, especially in World of Tanks, which I recently installed through Steam. If I had to guess, I would say that it far surpasses the time I spent in Destiny 2, or any game for that matter. Thousands of hours of glorious purpose.
I may need to devote more time to other armoured warfare games. But in all honesty, I already invested so much time grinding World of Tanks, I don’t see myself doing the same in other games. Perhaps I should vary the pleasure with some RTS titles? What is sure is that Arc Raiders is capturing most of my attention now.
If I had to guess for next year, I would say my most-played games will be Arc Raiders plus either World of Tanks or Destiny 2. I also need to continue my Assassin’s Creed franchise, which has collected a lot of dust. Not to forget GTA VI on Xbox – assuming it doesn’t get delayed, again.
