I’m a fan of MSI’s Force GK600 TKL Wireless Special Edition mechanical keyboards with unique keycap sets

A stylish keyboard that is perfect for work and gaming, with a great potential for customisation.

MSI has released three new special-edition models of its Force GK600 TKL wireless keyboard for those who want something that strays from the usual black and white themes. These are the Mars, Topo Blue, and Topo White, each combining distinctive design elements with professional-grade features. The Mars is definitely the most unique, adopting a bold and futuristic style that will surely attract many.

Measuring 348mm x 140mm x 45mm, the Force GK600 TKL lineup includes all the necessary keys to achieve your tasks without occupying excessive space. All are built with multiple layers of sound-dampening foam and gaskets, said to be engineered to preserve the pure sound of each key and ensure a satisfying acoustic experience. While some may not care about the acoustics of a keyboard as long as its performance is right, others swear by the so cold THOCK sound and won’t touch a keyboard that is harsh to the ears. Some go as far as to swap the plastic keycaps for ceramic ones.

Like most keyboards nowadays, you will also find a good dose of customisable RGB, augmenting the flair of these new designs. The Mars version is definitely the one that benefits the most from the lighting, thanks to its special keycaps which feature transparent sides that let the RGB lighting shine through.

These are further embellished by a great-looking paint job inspired by Mars exploration, boasting elements such as Martian dunes, starry skies, and sci-fi base elements. The Topo models are also fine, topped by a topographic map and side-positioned fonts, which is preferred by many enthusiasts. Regardless of the model you choose, all come equipped with PBT keycaps that should resist wear while maintaining long-term clarity.

Out of the box, the Force GK600 TKL series comes bundled with linear mechanical switches rated for 50-million clicks, said to deliver smooth and responsive keystrokes. This should make them adequate for both typing and gaming, especially if they come pre-lubed. That said, if you prefer something different or of higher quality, you can always change these at any point, since Force GK600 TKL’s PCB supports hot-swapable 5-pin switches.

All models boast tri-mode connectivity, including 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.1, and USB Type-C (USB 2.0) wired, letting you select the best option for your situation. A 1.06in display is also available on all models, providing insight into the battery status, lighting profiles, and brightness at a glance.

The Force GK600 TKL Wireless Special Edition mechanical keyboard will be available this month, but pricing has yet to be unveiled. Considering the Forge GK600 TKL Wireless Sky $80 price tag (currently discounted to $70), we would expect these special editions to retail slightly higher, around $90 perhaps.
