Arctic launches the P12 Pro LN premium fan series featuring greater speed flexibility for silent operation

A fan designed for those who value quiet system operation, focusing on balancing performance and noise.

Arctic has expanded its P12 Pro fan series with three new 120mm LN variants, targeting quieter operation thanks to a lower speed range and optimised design. The series is said to maintain high airflow and static pressure while producing just 25dBA of noise.

The P12 Pro LN fan series is available in three different variants: the P12 Pro LN, P12 Pro A-RGB LN, and P12 Pro PST LN. All are 25mm thick, offering an adjustable speed ranging from 450rpm to 2,000rpm. For comparison, the regular P12 Pro series can only go as low as 600rpm. As a result, this lower speed range allows the LN models to better adapt to lower noise operation, all while featuring a 0dB mode that automatically activates when detecting a PWM value below 5% for a completely quiet system.

The main difference between these three variants is cosmetic. The P12 Pro LN are the cheapest, and thus the simplest, with no extra features, the P12 Pro PST LN adds daisy chainable cables for easier installation, and the P12 Pro A-RGB LN tops everything with RGB lighting that can be controlled via third-party apps like SignalRGB. The P12 Pro LN and P12 Pro PST LN are available in single units or five packs, while the P12 Pro A-RGB LN is only offered in single units or three pack.

The new P12 Pro LN fans also feature a redesigned frame with tighter manufacturing tolerances, allowing them to maintain higher static pressure and efficiency, which makes them compatible with high air-resistance applications such as on radiators. The fan blades have been revised to deliver an optimal balance of performance and smooth operation, with a minimum gap between the blade tip and frame of just 0.855mm.

But that’s not all, because Arctic is also combining a hydrodynamic bearing with an extended shaft to improve pressure distribution and minimise vibrations. Lastly, all models use a microcontroller tuned to reduce motor noise, compensate for load fluctuations, and protect against inrush currents or reverse polarity.

In terms of performance, all P12 Pro LN variants have the same characteristics, reaching 3.5mm H2O of static pressure and 49cfm of airflow at full speed. Unsurprisingly, due to their lower maximum speed, they come short of what the regular P12 Pro models can achieve, making them less adequate for those who chase the best cooling performance. However, if silence is important to you, Arctic claims that the LN series delivers more performance at low speeds with higher airflow and static pressure at just 25dBA.
