MSI has showcased its MPG B850 Carbon Max WiFi motherboard at Computex 2026, boasting great specifications for a midrange offering. Attractive as the board’s appearance is, it pairs plenty of useful function with its form.
The MPG B580 Carbon Max WiFi serves as the long-awaited successor to the MPG B650 Carbon WiFi. Through this launch, MSI aims to reduce the cost of its sought after design. Its dark theming, with black PCB, connectors, and VRAM coolers are undeniably slick.

You’ll find an RGB dragon above the VRM cooler, with other effects scattered across the chipset cooler, and M.2 heatsink which all complement the theming nicely. Of course, you can choose to turn out the lights if you’d prefer a stealthier, wholly charcoal apperance.
The MPG B850 Carbon Max WiFi comes equipped with a nice feature set, including a segmented debug display, which will make hardware troubleshooting simpler. That’s not forgetting an easily accessible clear CMOS button, plus the brand’s EZ release locking mechanisms on the main PCIe and M.2 slots.

In terms of connectivity, you’ll find three 10Gb USB-C ports, alongside two 10Gb USB-As, a single 5Gb USB-A, as well as four 480Mb USB-A inputs. As you’d expect from a modern motherboard, the MPG B850 Carbon Max WiFi also arrives with Wi-Fi 7 networking in addition to a 5Gb LAN port.
MSI sadly hasn’t shared exact pricing for the MPG B850 Carbon Max WiFi yet. That said, we’re confident it’ll be more affordable relative to the higher-end X870 Carbon motherboards.
