Every Nvidia GeForce RTX 50 Super Series GPU may hit store shelves in time for Christmas

RTX 5070, 5070 Ti, and 5080 will all receive Super refreshes before the end of 2025 according to new rumours.

End-of-year holidays may seem far away now, but Nvidia may be cooking a stocking full of launches for the season right now. Following previous rumours of a GeForce RTX 50 Super Series, rumours now claim that the entire refreshed stack could be available for purchase before the end of the year.

For those in need of a refresher, whispers continue to surround would-be GeForce RTX 5070 Super, RTX 5070 Ti Super, and RTX 5080 Super graphics cards. While the least-powerful of the three cards will allegedly be the only one to receive a boost to CUDA cores, all three will apparently receive a 50% increase in VRAM capacity.

Previous reports suggested Nvidia was deciding between a late 2025 or early 2026 release window, with no clear indication as to which models would debut when. However, TweakTown claims relevant sources have confirmed the former launch target is correct.

While this may seem like a quick turnaround given how recently the vanilla variants of each graphics card launched, this launch strategy isn’t unprecedented. Looking back to GeForce RTX 20 Series, Nvidia released RTX 2060 in January 2019 only to push RTX 2060 Super out the door six months later in July 2019.

It’s unclear whether Nvidia will outright replace existing models in favour of these Super refreshes. The brand has previously kept vanilla SKUs on the market at the same time with a lower MSRP, á la RTX 4070 and RTX 4070 Super.

I’d personally prefer to see the existing SKUs go the way of the dodo, in favour of their superior Super successors. This would create the least confusion in the market, saving consumers from mistakenly purchasing the older versions.

Not to mention, going whole hog on Super would also bolster the perception of GeForce RTX 50 Series more broadly. With the original models out of the picture, Nvidia effectively removes the advantage of larger buffers that Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 enjoy.

While there’s no sign of one yet, I’ll keep my fingers crossed that RTX 5060 gets the Super treatment too. A shift from 8GB of VRAM to 12GB, through 3GB memory modules, would greatly elevate that card.

Regardless, expect a barrage of graphics cards from Nvidia later this year. Just don’t forget to temper those expectations with a pinch of salt, as these are just rumours for the moment.
