Intel Arc driver delivers ridiculously good improvements again

Intel isn’t done yet with Arc.

Intel has released a new Arc Graphics driver promising massive performance uplifts alongside new game support and bug fixes. The blue team claims improvements from five to 174%, depending on the game.

Arc and Iris Xe Graphics driver version 101.5379 (non-WHQL) unlocks more performance for gamers rocking an Arc A-series GPU. Notably, this update brings up to 36% average fps uplift in God of War, 54% in Conqueror’s Blade, 172% in Dragon’s Dogma 2, and a whopping 174% in Granblue Fantasy: Relink.

Moreover, Intel Core Ultra processors with integrated Arc GPUs are also benefiting from this update. The brand claims up to 27% average fps increase in Conqueror’s Blade, 29% in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, and 117% in Assassin’s Creed Origins. These are very nice improvements, especially for the iGPU that needs every drop of optimisation.

But that’s not all, version 101.5379 also adds support for four games, two of which are much awaited – namely, Dragon’s Dogma 2 and Horizon Forbidden West.

Lastly, we find a bunch of bug fixes targeting crashes in Counter-Strike 2, Dota 2, and Serif Affinity Photo 2, plus corruption in Alan Wake 2. Intel seems to have a fixation on the number 2. That said, there is still work to do, actually, as Intel notes a bunch of known issues to fix. These effect games such as Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, Diablo IV, and Helldivers 2.

It’s nice to see Intel continuing to push its hardware further, meaning early adopters won’t be left behind those who opted for the competition.

The Arc and Iris Xe Graphics driver version 101.5379 can be downloaded (770.2MB) from Intel’s website here.
