Leaked brochure reveals Asus ROG Xbox Ally price in the UK

Though within the reach of a lot of gamers, it may have a hard time against competing products from Valve or even Asus’ own roster.

Asus is seemingly entering the final stretch before the release of its much-awaited ROG Xbox Ally handhelds, as a leaked brochure reveals pricing. According to some promotional material shared by FriendlyPharma on Reddit, the brand is set to launch the entry-level Xbox Ally model at £499.99.

Previous leaks of the ROG Xbox Ally from Spain hinted at a somewhat equivalent €599 price tag, adding weight to this leak. While Asus has yet to announce pricing, £499/€599 sounds about right. As for the US, we expect $550 to $599. What is certain is that more would be hard to explain, considering that the original ROG Ally currently retails for £549 while offering much stronger specs.

As a reminder, the ROG Ally (RC71L) leverages AMD’s Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor, boasting eight Zen 4 cores clocked up to 5.1GHz alongside 12 RDNA 3 compute units at 2.7GHz. These share 16GB of LPDDR5-6400 memory and up to 30W TDP. For comparison, the ROG Xbox Ally (RC73YA) houses the Ryzen Z2 A, which only carries four Zen 2 cores clocked at 2.8GHz plus eight RDNA 2 compute units at 1.8GHz. To put it simply, the ROG Xbox Ally is closer to a Steam Deck than the ROG Ally.

Fighting a £479 Steam Deck with its great OLED display, or worse, the £279 of the LCD variant, will be risky. Also, the combination of multiple generational improvements plus the high core counts and frequency should help the original ROG Ally to deliver better performance, without costing much more. In other words, we won’t be surprised if the ROG Xbox Ally launch price turns out to be lower than £499.

That said, the ROG Xbox Ally has an ace up its sleeve – at least temporarily – in the form of a customised Windows 11 experience that is said to consume fewer resources while being better suited for handheld controls. This means that owners can install any PC game they want, regardless of the store or launcher. And since the handheld is designed in partnership with Microsoft, you can expect further system optimisations down the line.

Previous leaks have indicated that the ROG Xbox Ally, alongside its bigger sibling, the ROG Xbox Ally X, are set to launch on October 16, with pre-orders opening on September 25, 2025. If this is true, we shouldn’t wait long to find out the official pricing.
