MSI teases a limited-edition RTX 5080 The Mandalorian and Grogu graphics card

While the underlying card design will likely be based on one of the brand’s existing models, the custom art should make it unique enough, especially for Star Wars fans.

MSI has shared a glimpse of its upcoming special-edition RTX 5080 graphics card, set to launch on May 22 alongside the release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu in theatres and IMAX. This model will be available in limited quantities, featuring Star Wars-related art on the front and back.

Teased on Star Wars Day, May 4, and representing a continuation of Disney’s television series The Mandalorian, the movie comes six years after Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, this time starring Pedro Pascal as Din Djarin, Jeremy Allen White as Rotta the Hutt, and Sigourney Weaver as Ward, directed by Jon Favreau.

The short teaser video (below) shows what looks like an MSI RTX 5080 Gaming Trio design, which measures 338mm x 140mm x 50mm and features the conveniently named StormForce dual-ball-bearing fans. We can also see what seems to be the back plate embellished with an illustration of Din Djarin holding Grogu in his arms, with the fan hubs topped by a Mythosaur symbol. The brushed aluminium effect pairs nicely with Din Djarin’s armour and should help the card stand out from the other special editions.

While MSI didn’t share a lot of details, looking at previous special cards like the RTX 4070 Ti Super S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 and RTX 5070 Toy Story, we can expect identical hardware and cooler specs to the standard card version. This means the same GB203 Blackwell GPU packing 10,752 CUDA cores alongside 16GB of GDDR7 memory on a 256-bit bus. In other words, this looks more like a custom paint job than a new card design. We should learn more in a couple of weeks.

MSI plans to launch the RTX 5080 The Mandalorian and Grogu Edition at an undisclosed price. Considering its limited-edition nature, MSI will only make 500 units of this model, so expect high demand, both from custom card collectors and Star Wars fans.
